The Cancer Bell

Torie rang the radiation completion bell August 7, 2015, after another 25 days of radiation on the spots that showed cancer growth after she relapsed in June 2015. We hoped this was going to work, because there were very few options for chemo since the doctors gave her most of everything they had for the first go around. The lack of funding for childhood cancer produces a very grim outcome for some of the more rare cancers. Although the American Cancer Society likes to publish the fact that survival rates have risen to 80%+ for childhood cancer, that number is only an average. If your child gets a rare cancer, they are not average. We need more funding to find a CURE!
